What is a Lord?
For hundreds of years, there has been a clear and defined line between the wealthy and poor noted by the title Lord or Lady. Those with this title were traditionally born with it or granted the title by meeting certain requirements(marrying into the family being one of them).
Lord is a more informal moniker for those of status and worth as their official titles came from one of the five peers. A peer is a legal system that tells the rank of each title. At the bottom were Barons just above a knight, on their shoulders we find Viscount, tax collectors of their time. The next 2 are Earl and Marquess, who was in charge of the judicial system and defense of the land. So Lord developed as an informal title and can be traced back to the title for bread-keeper, this was someone who had food in abundance and gave it to those who followed him.
Why Become a Lord/Lady?
Today you can legally be granted the title Lord, not just as a pittance or exclamation when you enter the room either! This method is legitimate and will hold up under English and International Law. It is a small way to give experience to the lifestyle that has drawn hundreds for hundreds of years. For good reason as well, so many people find smaller pleasures in life increased merely with this title. One client of this service managed to go places he thought he never could, based purely on the title. That feeling of elite privilege is one that I’m sure will follow him long after that night. Another customer was recognized as royalty and received many benefits during a visit, with one of the employees saying “‘…it’s rare we have royalty with us!!” It all happened without them doing a thing, lifting a finger even. That is what royalty lives like.
How to Become a Lord.
It’s much more feasible to get this title than most people think, and much like a treasure map, there’s more than one way to get to the chest!
One of the most common ways to become a Lord is to marry into the family of a Lady. It is just as binding and as you are both one legally and romantically, the title is yours as well. Another method, and perhaps less messy as well, is to purchase some land and have the title bestowed upon you. The final option would be to have the House of Commons declare you a Lord. All of this seems quite extravagant, doesn’t it? Well I misspoke earlier there’s one more way to achieve Lordship, by doing some light research online and finding a legitimate deed to purchase you too, can live the life of a Lord.
